Who Needs Contributed Rakeback?

Loose/Aggressive Players Contributed Rakeback is especially beneficial to loose, aggressive poker players. A loose player is one that prefers to see the flop before throwing in the towel. An aggressive bettor is one that tends to place more than the average amount of chips into the pot, usually in an effort to scare draw hands out of play. Above average chips contribution means if you divide the pot by the number of contributors, your contribution is higher than the average sum.

What makes Contributed Rakeback so beneficial to these player types is the way Contributed Rakeback is calculated. For example, if you place $20 into a $60 pot where 5 players contributed. $20 is 1/3 of the total $60 pot, therefore your Rakeback percentage would be taken from 1/3 of the total rake. Using the industry standard 5% capped at $3 rake policy the rake from a $60 pot would be $3. Divide that by 1/3 and you get $1 contributed rake.
Assuming you are earning the average 30% Contributed Rakeback deal, you would earn 30% of your $1 contributed rake, which comes to $0.30 in Rakeback.

Shared Rakeback Comparison Using this exact same example hand, let's calculate a Shared Rakeback profit. There were 5 players participating in a $60 pot raked at $3. Shared Rakeback divides the total rake by all contributing players and considers this average to be everyone's contributed rake amount.
If we divide the $3 rake by 5 players, average rake becomes $0.60, then we calculate your 30% Rakeback from this $0.60, resulting in an $0.18 Rakeback profit. Lower than the $0.30 Rakeback profit from Contributed Rakeback.

Dealt Rakeback Comparison Once more, we use the same example hand, but a Dealt Rakeback program. In Dealt Rakeback, contribution doesn't even play a role. The total rake is divided by all players dealt in the hand to find the average rake. This can be better for tight and conservative players.

If you are a loose/aggressive online poker player, it will be better in the longterm with Contributed Rakeback.
